Adrien Coppens 2018 As I was just checking how much I was charged for withdrawing money with a Maestro card from the ATM there (at that Scotiabank ATM), I figured that info might be useful for future participants. * Do I have to choose between predetermined amounts (as in most ATMs in Belgium)? + No, you directly enter the amount of BBD you want * Can I choose which banknotes I want? + No, and it seems like their approach is to minimize the amount of notes you receive so you'll get the "larger" ones * Are there any "direct" fees? + No * How much do they add to the exchange rate? + About 4% apparently (although it is kind of hard to determine because both the "real exchange rate" and the "Scotiabank exchange rate" vary continuously) * How to find the few ATMs that accept Maestro cards? + http://www.maestrocard.com/gateway/where/where_atm.html + As of now, there is the Scotiabank ATM very close to Surfside and a "First Caribbean international bank" (CIBC) ATM in the entrance of the supermarket + In general, any ATM with a "Cirrus" label should work (I doubt they would label "Maestro" directly) * Are Maestro cards accepted anywhere for payments? + Apparently not (which means that you still need a credit card to pay the bill at Bellairs)
