The event takes place at the Scientific Library of Riga Technical University, Paula Valdena iela 5, Riga,
The point (1) as shown on the map below:
Meetings take place in Conference Hall and rooms No. 2.07, 2.08 at the second floor of the library building. The entrance is from the Zunds river side!
- Park Inn by Radisson Riga Valdemara
- Krogus iela 1, Riga
- Brand new 4 **** hotel near Riga Old Town.
Located on the west bank of the Daugava River and conveniently close to the city center, this hotel places Riga guests just a 12-minute drive from Riga International Airport,
two public transport stops from Riga Old Town and 25 minutes walking distance to the event venue (Scientific Library of the Riga Technical University).
- Islande Hotel
- Ķīpsalas iela 2, Riga
- This 4 **** hotel is located near the Daugava River with a magnificent panoramic view of the Riga Old Town – 10 minute walk from the Old City.
It is located 8 km from the Riga International Airport, 10 minutes walking distance to the Old town and 8 minutes walking distance to the event venue
(Scientific Library of the Riga Technical University).
It is still possible to find free rooms in other hotels to come with public transport or in 30 minutes walking distance to the workshop location, e.g.:
Bellevue Park Hotel Riga, Rixwell Elefant Hotel, OK Hotel, Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel, or any hotel located in Riga Old Town (point (4) on the map above).
Getting to and from Riga Airport (Lidosta Rīga in Latvian) is easy. You have three very convenient options to reach the city center with ease and at a low cost.
- The preferred option is to take the city Bus 22 which stops at the bus station on the right side of the square in front of the Airport.
The journey time is about 30 minutes depending on traffic and runs regularly.
The tickets cost 1.15 euro if bought prior your trip – or 2.00 euro if bought from the driver, but the prices are always on the rise.
Be sure to have some extra change as the driver may not be able to change large banknotes.
You can find all the other routes and schedules here.
To get to Park Inn by Radisson Riga Valdemara or to Islande Hotel take the stop "Kalnciema iela", which is located just near the hotel.
- The mini bus is 5 euro and leaves every 30 minutes between 5:30 a.m. and 00:45 a.m.
They have various stops in the centre for you to hop off at. Again you should buy your ticket in the airport.
The journey time is about 30 minutes.
- Your other option is to use one of the Airbaltic taxis. The taxi has a fixed rate of 14.00 euro and the coupon voucher for this must be purchased in the airport.
This will get you to any place within the centre of Riga. If you’re staying in Old Town or even closer to the airport,
it should be cheaper to get a taxi just outside the arrivals terminal.
The journey time is about 20 minutes.
Note that COST only re-funds public transport costs. It does not re-fund taxi fares, unless you travel before 7pm and after 10pm.
The taxi receipt should show date and time explicitly.
We do not advise getting into unmarked taxis around the airport. If you do use a company other than the Airbaltic taxis then ask or negotiate a price before you get in.
