Modelling Chaotic behaviour with cellular automata




A short description (abstract) of the project here

Abstract: Cellular automation has been used by many scientists to model and understand the behavior of complex systems occurring in biology, physics, chemistry and other scientific areas. It uses a set of simplified rules to simulate an existing phenomenon for its further understanding. To achieve this, a provided cellular automata simulator was used. A new simulation example was introduced in this simulator, representing chaotic behavior. A subset of the Wolfram rules was used to model rule 30 from Wolfram’s book “A New Kind of Science”. The results obtained are very similar to the example represented in his book. Rule 30 and in particular chaotic behavior is important in cryptography and security of electronic data transfer.
