Available Help
While working a simulated laboratory, help is provided in three ways:
- Remedial Help
- On-Line Help
- Demonstrations
Remedial Help
Remedial help is given in the form of concise messages which pop up in user dialog boxes. Messages are
invoked when a user performs an inaccurate action. For example, when asked to measure the input amplitude
using DC coupling, a measurement using AC coupling results in the following message:
All dialog messages can be stored in a central database.
On-Line
Help
On-line help is provided upon request in the form of a context-sensitive, hypertext Microsoft Windows
help file. It shows a list of anticipated problems in a particular part of a simulated laboratory.
There also is an option of searching for certain keywords (e.g. "rise time").
Demonstrations
The third form of help is two introductory animated demonstrations which show how to build the first
circuit, how to complete the first required measurement or which options an oscilloscope has to
remove the DC component of a signal.
