In this tutorial we present how to enact a simple process with loops, which is illustrated below.
This PM, which we are going to call "RecPM_pm", has two activities "Sketch" and "LookAtSketch". After concluding the first, one artifact of type "xopp" must be provided. This artifact is used in the following activity. After finishing the second activity, the user may decided either terminating the PM or repeat the workflow from the first activity.
Now we are going to enact this PM using WEE.
In the first page, you must provide the URL to the Fuseki Server that stores the PM models and that also will store the traces generated by the enactment. After typing the URL, you must click the "Next" button.
Then, you must select the PM you want to enact (in our case the "RecPM_pm") and click the "New Enactment" button.
The engine will provide a dropdown menu with all the enabled activities, i.e., the ones that can be started. In our case, only the "Sketch" activity is enabled via the port "cin".
After selecting the activity, you must click the "Start Activity" button.
On the right-hand side, the events that happen along the enactment are being logged. After starting the "Sketch" activity, the only possibility is to end this activity. For that, you must select the activity to be concluded in the dropdown menu, in this case "sketch". In case other activities could be concluded, they would be shown in this menu.
After selecting the activity to conclude, you must select the chosen output control port. This will indicate the flow to be followed when terminating an activity. In this case, there is only one possibility via port "cout".
When you select the output control port, in case this activity may output artifacts, they will be listed below with their corresponding name, type and upload button. For each artifact you must upload its corresponding file, and, only after that, you must click the "End Activity" button.
The next activity to be performed is "look_at_sketch". After selecting it from the dropdown menu, a link is shown to download the uploaded file from the previous activity. This happens because the output artifact from the previous activity serves as input for this one. You may download the files clicking the "Download" link.
To conclude the activity you must select its output control port, we this case we have two options "cout" and "coutRec". If we look at the PM, choosing "cout" leads to the termination of the workflow, while "coutRec" restarts the process from the "Sketch" activity. Let's choose "coutRec" to allow one more iteration.
Now, you should start the "sketch" activity again, but now via port "cinRec". After that you should execute the same steps from 4 to 8.
Next time you reach the conclusion of activity "look_at_sketch", instead of selecting the "coutRec" port, choose the "cout" port to end this enactment.
Afterwards, a new option appear in the dropdown menu for starting activities, "END ENACTMENT". Choose this option.
A new button "End Enactment" is shown. Click this button to finish the enactment of this PM.
Finally, this list of all events performed in this enactment is shown. You may click the "Home" link to return to the home page to either start new enactments or continue enactments that have not been finished yet.
