Models of Large-scale Natural & Intelligent SystemsFire spreadBecause of both climate warming and agriculture decrease in developed countries, fire spread occurrences are now increasing. The many intricate phenomena interacting upon very large real topologies make fire spread modelling and simulation hard to perform. Our goal is to combine and develop both simulation and virtual reality techniques to run realistic immersive training simulations.

To investigate new spatial models of possible propagations, a Monte Carlo simulation is used. The goal is to be able to understand and observe a consistent scenario-based propagations in order to help for the development of policies (containment, antiviral treatments, vaccines, etc.) The island of Corsica constitutes a good application domain. At this micro-continent scale we simulate a human propagation of the virus according to various policy rules.

It is well accepted now that sustainable policies need to be achieved to reduce economical costs of environmental damages and improve life quality of citizens. The modelling difficulty of economic land-uses relates to the decisions of both citizens (protestations, land sales, etc.) and politic actors (constructability, etc.) Transdisciplinary (both computational and economical) models can be develop to understand and observe this phenomenon.
